CHASE (CLASS 5) An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference approaching the final fence involving the winner, MARYLIN MONROE (IRE), ridden by Rex Dingle, and My Lady Grey (GB), placed second, ridden by Brendan Powell.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved the placing of MARYLIN MONROE (IRE) as the filly had jinked quickly left-handed on the run to the final fence, and whilst My Lady Grey (GB) had received a bump the filly had lost little momentum, and the winner always appeared to be holding the second between the final fence and the line with three- quarters of a length between them at the finish.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Wilde Spirit (IRE), which was pulled up, was lame on its right-hind leg.
