Cedar Cage (GB) wore earplugs throughout the race.
The winner, Prince Imperial (USA), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Goodwood on 21 May 2021 where the gelding finished ninth of thirteen, beaten by 14¼ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Richard Hughes could offer no explanation for Prince Imperial (USA)’s improved form other than the gelding appeared to benefit from a return to an all-weather surface and the re-application of blinkers on this occasion having worn cheekpieces last time out.
Prince Imperial (USA) was routine tested.
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Revolutionary Man (IRE), placed sixth, beaten by 41 lengths, ran too free.
