Permission was given for Aviewofthestars (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Lady Gwen (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong, involving Saddlers Quest (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Anderson and Lady Gwen (GB), placed third, ridden by Gavin Sheehan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Saddlers Quest (GB) as Lady Gwen (GB) was moved off its intended line and had to race tight up against the rail before receiving a bump to stay on strongly to be beaten a nose at the line.
Having taken this into account the Stewards were satisfied that the distance Lady Gwen (GB) lost as a result of the interference was greater than the diminishing nose margin and ordered the placings to be revised as follows: First: Aviewofthestars (GB), Second: Lady Gwen (GB), Third: Saddlers Quest (GB) and Fourth: East End Girl (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental as Saddlers Quest (GB) was hanging left-handed despite the riders best efforted to correct the mare.
Following the race, Joe Anderson reported that Saddlers Quest (GB), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure.
