McNamara's Torquay pleases plenty with Limerick win
We wanted to be in the first two all the way and I said if he ended up in front not to be afraid to make the running. We were hoping we had the best horse in the race and we planned to stay out of trouble and once she has light she tends to jump better,. She loves good ground and would also rattle off firm ground. Hopefully if the handicapper isn't too hard on her she might follow up with another one. Conor is doing fine and is getting opportunities and rides well.
Not-unbacked Al C wins race where major plunge goes astray
It wasn't a surprise as he is a grand horse who is going the right way and won his point to point. He'll be a nice chaser next year and anything he does over hurdles will be a bonus. He is a bit lazy and runs behind the bridle but he does it easy enough. He'll have a break now and as long as the ground doesn't go too quick he could run again before the summer.
Whereyounow really loves these student days
He improved a good bit from Cork and stepping him up in trip slowed down the boys in front a bit. It gave him a chance to jump a bit better and he did it well in the finish. Next, he'll run in the weakest race I can find. Anyway he is keeping the thing going!
Limerick double for McNamara with Greenmount Park specialist Transfer
He has been a lucky horse and is three from three around Limerick. I was very disappointed in his jumping today for a horse who is such a good jumper. Whether he was going as fast as he could over 2m4f on good ground or not I don't know but he is better on softer ground,. Going on that performance he would want it softer so we may consider giving him a break and coming back later in the year. If it was soft he might go to Fairyhouse or Punchestown but I'm not anxious to run him again on good ground.
At Your Ease makes it 2 on the day for Meyler at Limerick
If ever a horse was ridden to the letter, he was! The mistake at the first didn't do any harm as if he winged it he might have been too free so it helped him get switched off. Donagh gave him a beautiful ride,. He has ability but wouldn't want to be in front for too long. That will give him confidence and I don't know whether he'll keep going for the summer - probably not but he might get one more run in a handicap.
