Permission was given for Billy Dylan (IRE) to go early to post.
Billy Dylan (IRE) lost its left hind shoe on the way to the start.
As David O'Meara had indicated at declaration prior to racing that the gelding should not be withdrawn in the event that it shed a plate, Billy Dylan (IRE) was able to run.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Red Invader (IRE), ridden by Darragh Keenan and trained by John Butler which was tenderly handled until approaching the final furlong, which finished ninth beaten by 6 ? lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated that his instructions were to make sure Red Invader (IRE) jumped from the stalls, having refused to race two starts ago.
He went on to say that he couldn't go with the fast early pace and found himself in the kickback and although he ran through beaten horses in the latter stages Red Invader'S (IRE) effort flattened out from ? furlong out and he felt that he had achieved the best possible placing.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Theodore Ladd reported that Tan (GB), placed sixth, hung left-handed throughout.
