Kauto Star's brother wins on jumps debut

he has the same shape as Kauto (Star) but is a smaller version. He had a small setback last season and I ended up running him in more bumpers that I would have liked to protect his novice hurdle status. He isn't bred for bumpers though and jumps so well. I was very impressed with the way he kicked again turning in and he's entitled to go for a Graded hurdle next. He could manage fences later in his career but I don't know if he'd improve from his hurdle rating.

'Hormonal mare' shocks at Limerick

that was a surprise, no doubt about it! She is a very tricky and hormonal mare and you don't know what to expect with her. Andrew Balding had her in Britain but she wouldn't enter stalls so was sent to me to go hurdling. A lot of the credit has to go to Robbie Power though as she initially wouldn't jump but Robbie eventually got her jumping over cross-country fences. She was supposed to go to a stallion in the new year but winning a race might now change that!

what's seldom is wonderful! He's my only horse in training and I have very few runners these times. He has had lots of problems and has nuts and bolts in a joint and also suffers with his back. His previous owners pulled out of him and I have him a year; he is only rated 102 over fences and might go chasing next.
