An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding Mr William Easterby, the rider of PATH TO FREEDOM (IRE) in Race 6, being on the track during Race 4 as the horses were rounding the bend into the home straight on the first circuit.
Easterby was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
He explained that he was walking the course ahead of his ride and had lost track of time so was unaware that runners were on the track.
Easterby was cautioned and reminded of his responsibility to remain vigilant when walking the course to ensure his and other participants’ safety.
