Bill (Lee) said to me, after riding in the first and second, that it was safe ground, but this fella would relish even slower conditions. This race, if you look back on it, every year it seems to work out and he's a horse we think a bit of. Bill said that if anything had come to him, he would found again and was pleased with him. Carroll, that a repeat performance in the behaviour of his charge, who misbehaved on the way to the start and was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards may render the animal liable for suspension
D.J Gilligan, rider of Red Lacewing trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount fly leaped from the stalls
D. McMonagle, rider of Anatoli (GB) trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right when under pressure.
