Following the race, Richard Johnson reported that Vendredi Trois (FR), which finished last of the five runners, was unsuited by the early slow pace of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Elkstone (GB), placed fourth, bled from the nose.
