I'm delighted for both the horse and the owner. He is a horse who has had his issues and Tony (Carey, Listowel-based owner) to be fair to him, has left everything up to me and has had as much patience with him. Tony is with the yard a long time and I'm thrilled he has won for him more than anything. I've loved this horse since I bought him as a store but we haven't had a straight run with him. An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (109 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances - (which are not cumulative, up to and including 24th March) Riders who have not ridden the winner of a *race allowed..........4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 5 *races allowed........2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed *Including races under any N.H.
