Permission was given for City Escape (IRE) to go early to post.
Upon leaving the stalls, Al Gaiya (FR), placed third, jumped left-handed, giving a bump to Lady Ziana (GB), unplaced, resulting in the filly becoming short of room and the rider having to take her back, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Al Gaiya (FR); Following the race, Jimmy Quinn reported that Lady Ziana (GB) had jumped awkwardly, independent to being crowded by Al Gaiya (FR).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start involving Hot Day (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Paul Mulrennan and Codebook (GB), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
The interference was found to be accidental as when shifting ground in front of the field, Muscutt made sufficient effort to ensure that he was clear, whilst at the same time Mulrennan to his inside encouraged his mount forwards, reading what was going on to his outside behind Muscutt, which resulted in him running on to his hindquarters and subsequently have to be taken back for a number of strides.
Approaching the final furlong, when having been denied a run, City Escape (IRE), placed sixth, shifted left-handed off the heels of Codebook (GB), unplaced, giving a bump to the winner, Diamond Jill (IRE), who was also stuck behind horses, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of City Escape (IRE).
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Broken Rifle (GB), placed seventh, ran too freely in the early stages of the race, Darragh Keenan reported that Artisan Bleu (IRE), unplaced hung very badly right- handed which resulted in him being unable to ride the filly out to the line and Trevor Whelan reported that Lofty (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
Daniel Muscutt reported that Codebook (GB), unplaced, was struck into approximately 1 furlong out by City Escape (IRE), placed sixth, whose rider, Hollie Doyle, reported that the filly was denied a clear run.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Codebook (GB) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
