An enquiry was held into the withdrawal of Yoshimi (IRE), drawn 7.
The Starters and Paul Hanagan were interviewed and shown recordings of the loading process.
The Starter explained that from his position on the rostrum he believed that Yoshimi (IRE) had hit the gates and broken out of the stalls resulting in the colt being withdrawn.
He added that having reviewed a recording, it appeared that the opening of the gates may not have been caused by Yoshimi (IRE) and therefore decided that the colt would not be required to pass a stalls test before its next run.
The Assistant Starter confirmed that all the starting gates were checked as per normal procedure prior to the start of this race.
Their explanations were noted and being satisfied that all procedures had been carried out satisfactorily no further action was taken.
Inside the final furlong, Alibaba (GB), placed second, hung left despite the rider’s best efforts, shifting the winner, Magna Moralia (IRE), off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
