The winner, Miami Present (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Hexham on 7 May where the gelding was pulled up, on ground officially described as GOOD to SOFT.
Harriet Bethell representative’s explanation that the gelding had benefited from the quicker surface, which was officially described as GOOD on this occasion, along with the reapplication of blinkers, as well as having its second run after a wind operation, was noted.
Miami Present (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Tabitha Worsley reported that Goodnight Charlie (GB), which was pulled up, was unable to dominate on this occasion; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Wilderness (GB), which was pulled up, lost its right fore shoe.
