The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Sweet Sounds, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third, Liberatio, ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth and Maximus Daia, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, where it appeared Maximus Daia suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges' placings and took no further action. The Stewards requested a report from C. O'Donoghue, rider of Escape Clause, trained by Mrs John Harrington, as to the reason why he was late arriving at the start, thereby delaying the race. The rider reported that his mount was difficult going to post and began plunging down the sprint track, and this delayed him arriving at the start. Having considered the report, the Stewards took no further action.
