The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sacred Bridge (GB), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Benefit (GB) trained by Clive Cox (in GB), reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got crossed near the finish
The Stewards enquired into possible interference about two furlongs from the finish involving Benefit (GB), ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second, Hello You, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced, and Perfect News (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed first, where it appeared that Benefit (GB) may have got tight for room between horses
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, B.M. Coen stated that he was aware of Benefit (GB) racing close to him and he kept his own mount on a straight racing line. D.P. McDonogh stated that his own mount was lugging slightly at this point when Perfect News (GB) was travelling well and manoeuvered out causing him to steady his mount momentarily. C.D. Hayes stated that he observed Benefit (GB) getting unbalanced and being corrected by his rider which left room allowing him to angle out his own mount. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action
