The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Matthew J Smith, trainer of Another Choice, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i) The Raceday Stewards requested a report from E. McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Real Steel (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. E. McNamara stated that the blinkers and suitable ground coupled with a change in tactics had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form.
