Us And Them looks a jumper to follow
Articulum is back with a bang
He had a suspensory problem last autumn and we had to just have him on the walker until Christmas and cantering in the spring. We let him off for the summer and had this race targeted for the last six or eight weeks. He'd been well in himself but I still thought he would come on for the run,. I'm thrilled with that and he's put plenty of daylight between himself and some decent horses. We can dream again and the owners have been fantastic. They are three guys based in London and they have been so patient and just told me to do what I want to do with him. I'm surprised with that to be honest and would have been happy if he'd finished in the first three. The deeper the ground the better for him. I always thought he needed a trip but on heavy ground two miles is okay.
Slevin doubles up on Conna Cross
We think he has a high enough mark over fences but he’ll probably mix it with both. Two miles on fast ground might have him in trouble but the going made up for it today. It’s very demanding out there and he’s a good strong horse. They didn’t hang around and when he was pushing early on I thought there was something wrong. The owners are here today to see him win so it’s great.
Granny Biddy goes from strength to strength
I thought she was better today than the last day. She thrives on the heavy ground, and when fillies sweeten to the game they keep coming,. The young McInerney lad is getting a great run out of her but plenty of other lads have done a good job on her down the road. We might come back here for a three-mile race (Grade 3 novice, December 10). I'd say she will go chasing next year. The owner is out in Arizona and he's happy but I'd say the first bad run she'll be off till next year. We'll keep going while she's on a roll I'd imagine. We're blessed to have one like her. She takes no work but she is a lady. If she is to be clipped she would have to be sedated, so we don't interfere with her at all.
