I'm delighted. I thought it might be a bit short for her. She was third in it last year. I thought she'd need further but the little bit of a cut in the ground helped her at the end. She stays. She's a very, very useful mare to have and I'm thrilled for the owners (the Lillingston Family). I don't know where we'll go now and I might give her a holiday. John E Kiely, trainer

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Island Remede (GB), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed fifth, Sea Swift, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed third and Shall We, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second, where it appeared Island Remede (GB) and Sea Swift received interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
