Permission was given for Room Service (IRE), Russet Gold (GB), and Vicario (GB) to all wear a red hood to the start.
SOPHIA’S STARLIGHT (FR), drawn 10, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, thereby enabling the filly to break quickly.
Being satisfied that this was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Approximately 2½ furlongs out, Zoum Zoum (GB), placed sixth, hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the gelding, making contact with Ramazan (IRE), unplaced, which became unbalanced as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Zoum Zoum (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out when Thunderbear (IRE), placed third, ridden by Rossa Ryan interfered with Korker (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Clifford Lee.
Ryan was cautioned for careless riding as he angled his mount left-handed for a run when insufficiently clear of a weakening Korker (IRE), lightly bumping that gelding which became unbalanced.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final ½ furlong when Zoum Zoum (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Rob Hornby, interfered with Russet Gold (GB), unplaced, ridden by James Doyle.
Hornby was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction when not fully clear of Russet Gold (GB), causing Doyle to take a slight check.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when the winner, Room Service (IRE), ridden by Tom Eaves, interfered with Thunderbear (IRE), placed third, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
Eaves was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without timely correction, briefly carrying Thunderbear (IRE) off its intended line.
The Stewards noted that Saffie Osborne, the rider of Balmoral Lady (IRE), placed second, lost the use of her right iron over the concluding stages of the race due to her foot slipping out.
Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that Korker (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed.
