An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, The Electrician (IRE), ridden by Ryan Mania and Everyday Champagne (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Quinlan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of The Electrician (IRE) as both runners were drifting left independently after jumping the last fence, before The Electrician (IRE) gave a slight nudge to Everyday Champagne (IRE), which lost no momentum, two strides before the line to be beaten a short head.
The interference was found to be accidental as The Electrician (IRE) was drifting left despite the best efforts of its rider to prevent it from doing so.
The performance of Lisloran (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The explanation from Russell Ross that the race may have come too soon after its previous run at Newcastle 10 days ago on going officially described as Heavy, was noted.
Lisloran (IRE) was routine tested.
