Winners keep on flowing for Lyons
She's been crying out of the mile and she's very straight-forward. She was bred locally and she has a bit of a page. The aim this year was to win a maiden and whilst I don't think she's up to getting black-type, she is improving. Emmet said she'd win again but over no shorter than a mile. It was a good honest performance to handle a place like this.
Granny a special winner for the Mulvany family
She was a little disappointing the last day after coming there looking like winning. She didn't get the run of the race. The horses just weren't firing but we changed things around a little bit and hopefully they're turning the corner now. Hopefully she'll go to Galway. It's a nice anniversary present for my parents . Larry and Ann (winning owners) . married 50 years this weekend. My mother nearly set the house on fire one day . the chimney was on fire and she didn't realise it until we came in. It happened around a year and a half ago. At about the same time we were naming this filly (hence the name),.
Celtic Man gets job done at Bellewstown
He's not winning out of turn. He'll get a good bit further, that's what he's bred for and I fancy he will. He's not really a five furlong horse. There's a listed race for him in Tipperary now. We'll think about that after seeing how he comes out of this. He might get a break though and then we'd step him up in trip when he comes back. The horse has a future . he has plenty of gears and I think he'll stay.
Patrickswell makes it ten
They went a bit quick in Tipperary (down the field last time). When his chance had gone Ian (Brennan) looked after him. The ground was a bit hard there so I have to thank him for looking after him. That's seven Leigh has won on him and he gave him a hell of a ride. I have to thank the stall handlers. They play an important part as they're very patient with him. Leigh said he wouldn't miss a beat on him as he can take the mick a bit. That's mission accomplished. If he doesn't win again I don't care.
Wonder good when mind on the job
Cardinal lights up Bellewstown
He could be anything. We gave him plenty of time, he's a big horse. The faster the ground the better. I have a few horses by the sire and with every one we get we like them more and more.
