Winners keep on flowing for Lyons The market told a tale before the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden at Bellewstown as Ubiquitous Mantle (first-time cheek-pieces) scored under Emmet McNamara having been supported into 5/2 joint favouritism. Fellow market-leader Keyword (2s out to 5/2) drifted in the betting and he was in trouble from a long way out eventually finishing sixth of the ten. Ger Lyons' Ubiquitous Mantle meanwhile, gained a narrow lead a furlong out before staying on well to see off Henson by a length. Owned by his wife Lynne, Ger Lyons said of Ubiquitous Mantle: "She's been crying out of the mile and she's very straight-forward. "She was bred locally and she has a bit of a page. The aim this year was to win a maiden and whilst I don't think she's up to getting black-type, she is improving. "Emmet said she'd win again but over no shorter than a mile. It was a good honest performance to handle a place like this. "My horses are running well and we'll keep kickin'." (GC & EM)
