The Stewards interviewed D.J Gilligan, rider of Mary Salome, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who gave his evidence in the presence of J.A. Stack, accepted that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account suspended him for 3 race days and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E. for 1 day's tuition in the correct use of the whip
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Karlsberg, trained by Shane Crawley, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards fined Liam Roche, trainer €65 for fitting blinkers to Jenoow which had not been declared and ordered its removal.
