Palmer was fined £500 as he had made the gelding a non-runner after 9am on the day of racing with no change in the Going since declaration.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 3½ furlongs out involving Sweet Will (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris, First Charge (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Ray Dawson and Sea Sylph (IRE), placed second, ridden by Martin Harley.
Morris was suspended for 2 days for careless riding, as he had angled his mount right-handed without being fully clear of First Charge (IRE) which was hampered when carried off its intended line onto Sea Sylph (IRE) forcing Harley to check after being put onto the heels of Flint Hill (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that First Charge (IRE) lost its right-fore shoe.
