Permission was given for Lazyitis (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post and for both Rumaythah (IRE) and Coul Queen (IRE) to wear red hoods to the start.
Baileys Breathless (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
The Starter reported that Rumaythah (IRE) had been unruly down at the start, refusing to load and was subsequently withdrawn at 3:17pm.
Roger Varian was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Rumaythah (IRE) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the filly would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Upon rounding the final bend, Velocistar (IRE), placed second, edged marginally right-handed, causing the rider of Pacopash (GB), unplaced, to take a check for a few strides, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Velocistar (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference 1 furlong out involving Velocistar (IRE), placed second, ridden by Josephine Gordon; the winner, Crazy Luck (GB), ridden by John Egan and Cuban Breeze (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Richard Kingscote.
The interference was found to be accidental as Velocistar (IRE) rolled quickly left-handed before being corrected, causing Egan to be crowded for room for several strides and as a result of this making contact with Cuban Breeze (GB), causing it to become unbalanced against the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Velocistar (IRE), placed second, ridden by Josephine Gordon and Lazyitis (GB), placed third, ridden by Jim Crowley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Velocistar (IRE)’s placing as Lazyitis (GB) lost ground and momentum when carried off its intended line by Velocistar (IRE) who had drifted right-handed in front of the filly, to be beaten a diminishing short head at the line, and revised the placings as follows: First, Crazy Luck (GB); Second, Lazyitis (GB); Third, Velocistar (IRE); Fourth, Coul Queen (IRE).
Gordon was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift right- handed without timely correction, taking Lazyitis (GB) wide and off its intended line.
The performance of Baileys Breathless (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Baileys Breathless (GB), during routine testing, found the filly to have bled from the nose and to also be suffering from atrial fibrillation.
