An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference.
The first incident occurred approximately half a furlong out, involving Agent Gibbs (GB), placed third, ridden by Kate Leahy and Flower Power (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Jason Hart.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved AGENT GIBB’s placing as the momentum lost by Flower Power (GB) equated to less than the 1½ length margin at the line.
Leahy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift left without sufficient or timely correction, causing Flower Power (GB) to be checked for several strides.
The second incident occurred on the run to the line involving Agent Gibbs (GB), placed third, ridden by Kate Leahy and Visor (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved AGENT GIBB’s placing as the rider of Visor (GB) never stopped riding and appeared to be held at the line to be beaten ½ length.
Leahy was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift right away from the whip carrying Visor (GB) off its intended line.
The performance of Cold Harbour (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Robyn Brisland could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Cold Harbour (GB) was routine tested.
