An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the sixth fence involving Tide Times (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Todd and Speak Of The Devil (IRE), placed second, ridden by Alan Doyle.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Doyle was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Todd was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he maneuvered his mount right, when it should have been obvious that interference would occur, causing Speak Of The Devil (IRE) to receive two slight bumps and be moved off its intended line.
Cillin Leonard, the rider of Wigglesworth (IRE), was unseated approaching the fourth last fence.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and caused by the buckle coming undone on his left stirrup resulting in him being unseated on the approach to the fence.
Having inspected the stirrup leather, the Stewards found it to be in a serviceable condition and therefore no further action was taken.
The winner, Hard To Forget (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 17 January 2022, where the gelding finished seventh of nine, beaten 76 lengths.
Henry Oliver’s representative explained that Hard To Forget (IRE) appreciated the return to Good ground on this occasion.
The gelding was routine tested.
