He'd a great run the last day at Fairyhouse, although the two and a half miles was on the short side. The plan was to run here once he came out of that okay and qualify for Cheltenham. He looked a million dollars today, and I wasn't afraid of the ground. The bit of rain last night meant it wasn't too sticky. Ian gave him a great ride. The original plan was to go back chasing but I've never had a runner at Cheltenham before so hopefully he'll get in and the ground won't be too fast. An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall; not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
