An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final fence when the winner, Paddling (FR), ridden by Billy Garritty interfered with Pinch Of Ginger (IRE), placed second, ridden by Lorcan Murtagh.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Paddling (FR)’s placing as Lorcan Murtagh had to take back and switch Pinch Of Ginger (IRE) approaching the last fence, causing him to lose momentum and ground before rallying to be beaten a nose at the line.
The placings were revised as follows: Pinch Of Ginger (IRE) first, Paddling (FR), second.
Garritty was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left approaching the final fence without taking sufficient correction.
