Permission was given for Shoot To Kill (IRE) to go early to post, be mounted in the chute and wear a red hood to the start.
The raceday privilege request in relation to Declaring Love (GB), trained by John Butler, was late being submitted.
Butler was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted before 1pm on the day before racing.
Jumira Bridge (GB), trained by Derek Shaw, did not enter the Parade Ring.
Being satisfied that it was due to difficulty fitting the tongue strap, the Stewards took no further action.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after leaving the stalls when the winner, Declaring Love (GB), ridden by Shane Kelly, interfered with Shoot To Kill (IRE), placed eighth, ridden by David Probert.
Kelly was suspended for 6 days for careless riding for causing considerable interference to Shoot To Kill (IRE) as he allowed his mount to drift left when insufficiently clear, causing Probert to take a severe check against the rail.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Inaam (IRE), ridden by Laura Pearson and trained by John Butler, which was slowly away and appeared to be tenderly ridden in the rear for the first half of the race, before being ridden round the home bend and staying on under a hands and heels ride in the home straight to finish ninth, beaten by 8½ lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Inaam (IRE) revealed a foreign body in the gelding’s eye which he removed and also noted that the gelding’s heart rate was elevated and it exhibited a prolonged recovery rate.
The rider stated her instructions were to jump out and to get the gelding settled and switched off in behind and then make her run in the home straight.
She added that she had mistakenly grabbed the breastplate as the stalls opened, with the result that she jabbed Inaam (IRE) in its mouth, causing it to be slowly away, a fact which she reported at Scales.
She further added that she was conscious of her need to make her run from behind and therefore didn’t want to bustle the gelding along in the early stages.
Her explanation was noted.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Jumira Bridge (GB), placed seventh, ran too freely.
