An enquiry was held to consider interference after the final fence when Crossley Tender (GB), placed second, ridden by Tom O’Brien, interfered with the winner SAM’S ADVENTURE, ridden by Henry Brooke.
O’Brien was cautioned for careless riding in that after jumping the final fence in the middle of the track, he had angled left with the intention of getting his mount company to race against, but in doing so moved SAM’S ADVENTURE marginally off its intended line.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Crosspark (GB), which was pulled up, lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was treated for post-race stress.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Big River (IRE), which was pulled up, was suffering from atrial fibrillation.
