Shortly after the start, the right cheekpiece of General Allenby (GB), placed fifth, became loose and out of position.
The cheekpiece was inspected and as it was found to be in a serviceable condition, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the first bend when Seventii (GB), unplaced, ridden by Josephine Gordon interfered with Strictly Art (IRE), placed eighth, ridden by Tim Clark.
Gordon was suspended for 4 days for careless riding for allowing her mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing Clark to have to take a check and clip a heel.
The winner Homesick Boy (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Yarmouth on 14 October 2019 where the gelding finished ninth of the thirteen runners, beaten by 20 ¾ lengths.
The representative of Ed Dunlop’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the step up in trip from 1 mile and 3 ½ furlongs to 1 mile and 6 furlongs on this occasion, was noted.
Following the race, Jane Elliott reported Ruler Of The Nile (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout and Hollie Doyle reported that Blue Beirut (IRE), unplaced, ran in snatches.
