Having reviewed the start the Stewards were satisfied that Bright New Dawn (IRE) had refused to race and was deemed to be a runner.
The Starter reported that Bright New Dawn (IRE) had refused to race.
Olly Murphy’s representative and the Starters were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As the gelding had also been reluctant to race at Warwick on 12 January 2019 Bright New Dawn (IRE)’s behaviour was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
The winner, Eamon An Cnoic (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 7 December 2018 where the gelding finished sixth of twelve, beaten approximately 22 lengths.
David Pipe’s explanation that Eamon An Cnoic (IRE) had had a wind operation since its last run was noted.
