Permission was given for Velvet Vulcan (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood; Jimmy Mark (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and wear a red hood to post.
Naadyaa (GB) was withdrawn by the Stewards at 18:42pm having bolted and unseated its rider on the way to post before running loose.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Chinthurst (GB), ridden by Pat Cosgrave and Irezumi (GB), placed second, ridden by Charlie Bennett.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Chinthurst (GB)’s placing as although Chinthurst (GB) shifted right-handed taking Irezumi (GB) slightly off its intended line, the remainder of the movement right-handed appeared to be independent, with the winner appearing to be holding Irezumi (GB) to the line under a hands and heels ride to be beaten by a short head.
Cosgrave was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without timely correction.
Following the race, Jack Mitchell reported that Barbarosa (IRE), unplaced, hung badly right-handed; Ethan Jones reported that his saddle slipped on Gilbert (GB), placed third; William Cox reported that Jimmy Mark (IRE), unplaced, ran too free; Mike Murphy & Michael Keady reported that Velvet Vulcan (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the undulating track.
