An enquiry was held to consider the placings following an objection from Mr Kieren Buckley, the rider of Calin Du Brizais (FR), placed second, to the winner, Primal Focus (IRE), ridden by Nick Scholfield on the grounds of interference on the run to the line.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Primal Focus (IRE)’s placing as the winner was going away from the second at the line and the winning distance was a length and three-quarters.
Scholfield was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his horse to drift left-handed, away from the whip, without sufficient correction.
Following the race the Veterinary Officer reported that Bramble Brook (GB), placed third, had been struck into left hind.
