An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of possible interference inside the final furlong involving the winner Inhaler (GB), ridden by Harrison Shaw and Mutazawwed (IRE), placed second, ridden by P J McDonald.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Inhaler (GB)’s placing as in the first incident approximately ¾ of a furlong out, Inhaler (GB) lugged right-handed taking Mutazawwed (IRE) slightly off its intended line, but losing no ground or momentum as a result.
In the second incident inside the final ½ furlong it was found that both horses had contributed as Inhaler (GB) edged right at the same time as Mutazawwed (IRE) lugged left, which resulted in the runners making light contact and neither horse losing any momentum.
Both incidents were considered to be accidental and the placings remained unaltered.
