Geraghty: 'I don't know if I'd have beaten him'
Mullins scores seventh Galway Festival win
it was a nice surprise as I was a afraid the ground may be too soft but with Ruby coming wide maybe he found nicer ground. Ruby felt she was far happier when he got out of the bunch as when she was on the inside he felt she wasn't racing. I was also delighted with Argentino - it was a chance spare ride for Mikey Fogarty and I never saw him jump as well. Both of them will improve and we'll look to the next festival whether that's at Killarney or Listowel. We could try Valyssa Monterg on the Flat at some stage. It's been a fantastic week and way beyond what I had hoped - I was just hoping I might get a winner or two!
Ballydoyle newcomer wins on debut
he's a lovely big horse and was quite green. I was conscious of getting there a bit too soon and wanted to wait as long as I could. When he got there he looked around and I nearly won on the bridle. I really like him, he's a huge big imposing horse and to go around this track first time and win is not easily done. I think he has a bright future and could go back to seven or stay at a mile. He's a very big horse and I'd imagine whatever he does this year is a bonus.
Waipu Cove keeps rivals at bay
you never expect them to win like that and he was very impressive. We've always liked him and it was a toss up whether he went for the maiden last night or this nursery. When we realised he had 75, we were secretly a little bit happy and he'd a 17lb pull with the top horse (Antelope Canyon) for a length-and-a-quarter beating off levels at Roscommon. We've always liked him and thought he'd win a maiden so we'll take it from there. Without insulting anybody it might not have been the greatest race this week and I'm sure the handicapper will react. we put blinkers on him today as in Roscommon he went for a gap and just shied away and was babyish - we just use headgear to help them although he didn't need them as we could have tied a leg up!
Chillie Billie wins in tight finish
he's a hardy old horse and we keep running him. Young (Ross) Coakley said he doesn't know how he did it (win) but he just did. I have to mention John Sullivan who rides him out all the time as it's all down to him really. That's great and for a good loyal owner (Breen White).
Ebadani defies top weight for Halford/Corby
it was a good weight carrying performance and a lovely ride by Sean - the 5lb probably made the difference in the end. He's a fierce genuine horse. It was only his second run of the year so he was good and fresh coming here. The lads have been very patient. It's been the plan to come here as he likes an ease in the ground. We might mix it with him.
