The winner, Moel Arthur (USA), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton Park on 18 December 2024, where the gelding finished seventh of eleven runners, beaten 10 lengths.
Brett Johnson could offer no explanation for the improvement in form.
Moel Arthur (USA) was routine tested.
Approximately three furlongs out, Sun Dancer Girl (FR), placed second, stepped quickly left-handed, before being corrected by its rider, which caused the rider of Sharp Distinction (GB), unplaced, to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sun Dancer Girl (FR).
Following the race, Frederick Larson reported that Sharp Distinction (GB), unplaced, ran too free and Paddy Bradley reported that Alright Sunshine (IRE), placed fourth, also ran too free.
