The winner, Adrimel (FR), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 3 December 2021, where the gelding pulled up.
Tom Lacey explained that Adrimel (FR) benefitted from the first-time application of blinkers on this occasion; the gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Fugitif (FR), which started second favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
Nick Scholfield reported that the gelding was never travelling and jumped poorly as a result; and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Fugitif (FR) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
