An enquiry was held to consider interference in the final half furlong when Heights Of Abraham (IRE), placed second, ridden by Shane Gray, interfered with Wor Willie (GB), placed third, ridden by Paul Mulrennan, and Kihavah (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
Gray was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting right, causing Wor Willie (GB) to be carried off his intended line and in turn carry Kihavah (GB) onto the heels of the winner Aimeric (GB).
The performance of Polyphonic (IRE) which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Karl Burke could offer no explanation for the gelding's performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
