Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Goulane Jessie, trained by Seamus Spillane, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified
The Stewards fined W.J.Austin, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Highest Benefit, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Highest Benefit in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90
The Stewards interviewed C.A. Landers, rider of Mlily, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10. 3. (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended C.A. Landers for 2 racedays.
