L.T. McAteer, rider of Cash Or Crypto, trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stood in the stalls and refused to race
The Raceday Stewards interviewed David Marnane, trainer of Cash Or Crypto, concerning the conduct of this horse who stood in the stalls and refused to race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who expressed his disappointment with the conduct of his charge on this occasion. He confirmed the animals previous record which included a suspension for similar behaviour, but outlined the efforts he has made to address the issue and asked for another chance as the animal had plenty of ability and broke very well from the stalls on its previous four occasions. Having considered the matter and the evidence of the trainer, the Raceday Stewards suspended Cash Or Crypto for 30days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 14(iii)
A.J. Slattery, rider of Mount Ruapehu, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left from the stalls.
