The winner, Polydora (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Ayr on 18 January 2021 where the gelding was pulled up in a field of seven runners.
The representative of Tom Lacey explained that the gelding had appreciated the Good, Good to Soft going on this occasion having run on ground officially described as Heavy at Ayr last time out.
His explanation was noted and Polydora (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Paul O’Brien reported that Nightline (GB), which was pulled up, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
