Prior to this race, Lucinda Russell was asked to explain the reason why she was running BOYS ON TOUR (IRE) here at Perth on going described as Soft, having reported that the gelding would prefer a quicker surface following its run on Soft ground here at Perth on 31 July 2019.
The trainer’s representative explained that the ground was not as soft on this occasion and therefore they were happy for the gelding to take its chance.
Following the race, the representative of Gordon Elliott reported that Creadan Grae (IRE), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the Soft ground on this occasion and would prefer a sounder surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
