An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend entering the home straight on the final circuit involving Torrent Des Mottes (FR), placed sixth, ridden by Ben Poste and Overtougeorge (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Philip Armson.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Armson was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Armson was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he failed to take reasonable steps to stop his mount drifting left causing Torrent Des Mottes (FR) to be checked on the rail.
The winner, Ardmayle (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 18 February 2022, where the gelding finished ninth of twelve, beaten 44¾ lengths.
