An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding the road crossing being open on the bottom bend and a vehicle attempting to cross the track during the running of Race 4 before reversing off the course.
The Clerk of the Course, representing the Racecourse Executive, was interviewed.
Having heard their comments, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the back straight in the final circuit when Its Gonnahappen (IRE), which was subsequently pulled up, ridden by Kevin Brogan, interfered with Mason Jar (FR), placed sixth, ridden by Cillin Leonard.
Brogan was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed towards the rail, without sufficient correction, causing Leonard to take a slight check.
The winner, Scarpia (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Hereford on 4 January 2022 where the gelding finished eighth of fourteen, beaten by 37 ¾ lengths.
Nicky Henderson’s explanation that the gelding was better suited by the Good, Good to Soft in places going and by making the running was noted.
Scarpia (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Its Gonnahappen (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
