Sean Kirrane, the rider of Noafence (IRE), drawn 10, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.
Approximately 2½ furlongs out, Tazaman (GB), placed second, edged slightly left-handed at the same time as Fortultous (GB), placed fifth, lugged right-handed causing a weakening Welsh Wayne (IRE), unplaced, to be steadied by its rider in order to avoid heels, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either horse.
Following the race, Callum Hutchinson reported that Barca (USA), placed fourth, was slowly away and hung right.
