Prior to this race, Sir Michael Stoute, the trainer of Chairman Power (GB), was asked to explain why he was running the colt here at Wolverhampton, after the trainer’s representative had reported that Chairman Power (GB) had not been suited by the tight nature of the track on his previous run.
The trainer’s representative stated that as he Chairman Power (GB) was being stepped up in trip from 1 mile 4 furlongs, to 1 mile 6 furlongs on this occasion, they were happy for Chairman Power (GB) to take his chance.
Their comments were noted.
Arabian Warrior (GB) fell approximately 2 furlongs out, on the first circuit.
Angus Villiers, his rider, was unable to be interviewed owing to his injuries.
It was found that the incident was accidental and caused by Arabian Warrior (GB) running onto the heels of Baladio (IRE), clipping them and falling and the Stewards were therefore satisfied that no other horses or riders were involved.
