'Exciting' Albula delights O'Brien on debut
She won nicely and Declan (McDonogh) gave her a lovely ride. We liked her at home, I'm surprised that she won but we thought she'd run a nice race. She's an exciting filly. She'll step into a Listed or Group race now.
O'Brien bags quick double with Blackwater
She had been running well. I'm not sure she stays as far I thought she would and coming back in trip today suited her. She's 81 and the second is 80 so they probably ran to their marks. She'll probably step into a fillies handicap now or a three-year-old handicap.
Unbeaten Sacred Bridge scoops massive pot
That was a tough ask with her penalty. Obviously we were attracted by this race with the sponsors, Ballyhane and Joe Foley, and the big pot. We're glad it's over. Colin said she's versatile, five or six, and she's getting sharper with her runs. She's in all the early closers, all the fancy races, and we'll be campaigning her now in group races. It's great to train for these people, the pedigrees are second to none. We'll get serious now with the early closers she's in and take it from there.
Blairmayne comes home well in Naas
Murphy's Cavalry Charge pays off
We're delighted with that. He was a little bit green and silly the first day in Leopardstown. He got caught wide, hung out as he got a little nervous with the horses on his inside. He was still a little green there and Robbie said he'll come forward again. I'd say he could be a very smart horse, he won well there. He has a few big entries so we'll consider them and he'll definitely run in pattern company next.
Rose blooms late to score for Martin
He's some rider this fella. We felt we'd be outpaced early on but he didn't panic and came over to get the best of the ground. He said 'if it happens it happens'. He's just riding with so much confidence,. We fancied the filly, her work has been very good. It took a while for the penny to drop with her, she ran around a bit in Sligo and the last day in Fairyhouse it just happened too quick for her. I was delighted to see the rain this morning, I probably wouldn't have run if it was good to firm. She should go on again. This is one of the last homebreds we have Tom Brennan and the wife will be happy anyway.
Powell gets a tune out of Cliara
I was very happy with her. I was actually cursing him because he got blocked in, the plan was to go on. As he said it was Plan B, what do trainers know!. He gave her a super ride, he waited patiently as I thought he was going to get blocked in altogether. He came at the right time and she stayed on, she's gutsy. She ran a good race last week in Gowran and we just kept her ticking over. She entered later in the week at Tipperary but I don't know if she'll go now or not. I'll probably have to keep young Jamie on her, and she's in a ladies race.
Orr steers Magic Chegaga in
I'm really happy with the mare and she seems to be improving. We thought today would really suit, the bigger galloping track and a little bit of ease in the ground. That was definitely a part of the improvement. It's great to have her. I might look to get a bit of black-type with her. She has the pedigree and it would put a lot of value on her. In these conditions I'd definitely think about it. The horses are just in good form and you see it all the time, when a stable is in good form it seems to lift the whole lot of them. I just hope we can keep it that way.
