Rose blooms late to score for Martin The Pat Martin-trained Indiana Rose swooped from last to first to claim the spoils in the Naas Business Club Handicap this afternoon. Dylan Browne McMonagle took his mount over to the stand's side, from a central draw, in the sprint handicap and she finished with a flourish inside the final furlong. The daughter of Elzaam got on top close home to record a half length victory over Strange Times. Indiana Rose was recording her first career victory on her sixth outing. “He's some rider this fella. We felt we'd be outpaced early on but he didn't panic and came over to get the best of the ground. He said 'if it happens it happens'. He's just riding with so much confidence,” said Martin. “We fancied the filly, her work has been very good. It took a while for the penny to drop with her, she ran around a bit in Sligo and the last day in Fairyhouse it just happened too quick for her. “I was delighted to see the rain this morning, I probably wouldn't have run if it was good to firm. “She should go on again. This is one of the last homebreds we have Tom Brennan and the wife will be happy anyway.”
